Bethesda spotlights Fallout 4: Fathomless expansion mod for 2027

The underwater cosmic horror Creation gets a reveal trailer, alongside FEVer Dreams and Command Override, which arrive for Fallout Day.

Bethesda has highlighted Fallout 4: Fathomless, a community-made Verified Creation that works as a full expansion for Fallout 4, according to Screen Rant. The mod is set to launch in 2027, though no exact release date has been given, and a reveal trailer has been released.

Fathomless leans into cosmic horror, with much of the expansion set underwater. It is one of three Creations Bethesda put forward ahead of its Fallout Day celebrations.

The other two, FEVer Dreams and Command Override, are set to release in time for Fallout Day. FEVer Dreams traps players in a dungeon after they are dosed with FEV, while Command Override lets players take direct control of their robot companions.

Fallout 4 was first reported to be getting Fathomless by GameRant, before Bethesda's own spotlight on the project.

Fallout 5 still years away

In 2026, Bethesda began active development on Fallout 5, a game likely years from release. Fallout 4, more than a decade after launch, remains well supported by content, particularly from its modding community.
