Fallout 76 passes 25 million players, World Pets update set for December 1
Bethesda Softworks announced the milestone and the new pet-focused update on Steam News to mark Fallout Day.
Bethesda Softworks announced on October 24, 2026 that Fallout 76 has surpassed 25 million total players. The announcement was posted on Steam News to coincide with Fallout Day, according to gamespark.jp.
The studio also confirmed that a major update titled World Pets will be released on December 1. The update lets players take pets out of their C.A.M.P. and on adventures across Appalachia.
Pets in World Pets include dogs and cats as well as wasteland creatures such as radhogs and deathclaws, which travel and fight alongside players.
Fallout 76 is available on PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
From 20 million to 25 million
Fallout 76 was released in November 2018 and initially received harsh reviews, but expanded its audience through continuous updates. In May 2024, shortly after the TV series aired, total players surpassed 20 million.
This year, instead of the usual Fallout Day livestream, Bethesda made daily announcements on official social media from October 20 to 24 (Japan time). The event marks the series anniversary tied to October 23, the date nuclear war began in the Fallout world.
