Final Fantasy Resonance Launches October 22; FanFest Follows

Square Enix will release Final Fantasy Resonance on all current-gen platforms on Thursday, October 22, 2026, opening a run of Final Fantasy events through the end of the month, according to GameRant. The game uses HD-2D pixel graphics and turn-based combat, and its story is derived from the first major story arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. A free demo is available now.

Six days later, Keybound Brawler arrives in Final Fantasy 14 on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The typing mini-game is an attraction at the Manderville Gold Saucer, and its first challenge is themed on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, with Tifa and Barret glamour sets offered as rewards.

The Tokyo FanFest then runs from October 30 to November 1, 2026, at Makuhari Messe. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida is scheduled to deliver the keynote on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 7:00 PM Pacific.

What to expect from the keynote

A precise release date and the pre-order window for the Evercold expansion are expected to be revealed during the keynote. Square Enix had previously stated that Evercold would arrive sometime in January.

Tokyo FanFest will also carry details on Evercold's new ranged physical DPS job and on Ghosts of Desire, the Evangelion crossover alliance raid. Earlier Final Fantasy 14 news includes the Berlin FanFest reveal of the Bastion as the game's newest Tank job and the launch of Patch 7.56 in September 2026.
