Square Enix released the RPG Final Fantasy Resonance on October 22, 2026, according to 4gamer.net.
The game is available in three editions: the standard edition at 7,678 JPY (tax included), the Digital Deluxe Edition at 9,878 JPY (tax included), and the Collector's Edition at 25,500 JPY (tax included).
The Xbox on PC version launched on October 22, and the Steam version is set for October 23.
Final Fantasy Resonance is a completely new RPG built on the concept of what Final Fantasy might have become had it continued to evolve with pixel art. The HD-2D world is traversed by pixel characters, and the opening movie and event scenes use "Cinematic Pixel," a technique that pixelates 3DCG. The game features turn-based command battles and a job system.
Square Enix is also running several promotional campaigns. On its official X account, a follow-and-repost campaign to win autographed colored paper from the voice cast runs until November 5, with 20 winners. A collaboration campaign with 350 bookstores nationwide runs from October 23 to November 8, and a collaboration with Taito Station at 23 Taito-affiliated stores nationwide runs from November 7 to 29.
