Forza Horizon 6 delayed to January 26, 2027 on PS5, Sony confirms

Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that Forza Horizon 6 will be released on PlayStation 5 on January 26, 2027, according to Polygon. The PS5 version had previously been scheduled to arrive sometime in 2026.

The new date pushes the PlayStation release of the racing game into early 2027, roughly eight months after it debuted on other platforms.

Playground Games released Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox and PC on May 19, where it drew strong critical and commercial reception. The studio recently denied that the PS5 port was being delayed, and also apologized on X for its lack of communication about content updates and fixes.

Alinea Analytics estimated the game sold more than 7.4 million copies and generated an estimated $534.3 million in revenue before arriving on PlayStation.

The Forza series has found an audience on Sony's console before. Forza Horizon 5 sold over five million copies on PS5 in 2025 after launching on the platform years after its original release. In 2021, Microsoft said Forza Horizon 5 had the biggest launch in Xbox history, with more than 10 million players in its first week.
