GDC Festival of Gaming 2027 moves to four-day format, March 1–4
The 2027 edition runs Monday to Thursday at Moscone West and South, with the new Business Hall open across all four days.
GDC Festival of Gaming has confirmed that its 2027 edition will take place over four days, running from Monday, March 1, to Thursday, March 4, 2027, according to gamesindustry.biz. The shift from the previous schedule keeps the event at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
Organisers said the four-day format is intended to create a higher quality, more focused and valuable experience for attendees. Under the new schedule, the Business Hall at Moscone West and all conference programming will operate across all four days, while Festival Hall at Moscone South will run from Tuesday to Thursday.
The 2027 edition also promises larger session rooms, more hands-on workshops, interactive experiences and expanded networking opportunities.
Earlier changes to the 2027 show
The four-day announcement follows earlier news that the Business Hall would be added alongside new passes, enhancements to the GDC Summit and other schedule updates for 2027. The Festival of Gaming branding itself was introduced in 2026 as part of significant changes to the GDC experience.
Separately, the Game Developers Choice Awards said one day before this announcement that it will accept submissions from publishers and developers for the first time, with a deadline of November 1, 2026, for games released on PC or console between January 1 and December 31, 2026.
