Gears of War: E-Day Won't Be Followed By Another Seven-Year Wait, Studio Head Says
The Coalition's Mike Crump told the BBC that Gears of War: E-Day gives the studio a foundation to build future games on faster than the gap between Gears 5 and E-Day.
The Coalition studio head Mike Crump said the next Gears of War game will not take nearly as long to make as the previous seven-year gap between entries, in an interview with the BBC.
Gears of War: E-Day launched this week on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Crump said the game provides a great foundation for future titles in the series, which is why the studio does not expect the next instalment to match the seven-year wait that followed Gears 5.
Crump also said the studio measures success partly by whether a game showcases the Xbox platform and pushes the hardware to its limits.
Gears 5 was released in 2019, the previous entry in the series before Gears of War: E-Day.
