Gears of War: E-Day PC Specs: Ray Tracing GPU Required
The Coalition's expanded PC requirements for Gears of War: E-Day demand a ray tracing-capable GPU, 115 GB SSD space, and upscaling support at launch.
The Coalition has posted expanded system requirements for Gears of War: E-Day ahead of its October 6 launch. The biggest change: a ray tracing-capable graphics card is now required to play the game at all.
Storage is also a hard floor. The game needs 115 GB of free space on an SSD, with no spinning-disk option listed. On the upscaling side, Gears of War: E-Day supports DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 3.0 at launch.
For 4K at the Ultra preset targeting 60 fps, The Coalition lists an RTX 5070 Ti or RX 7900 XT. Minimum requirements start at an RTX 5050, RTX 2060, RX 6600, or RX 9060.
The expanded specs follow a similar picture from June, when GPU demands were already steep: an RTX 2060 or RX 6600 at minimum and an RTX 3060 Ti or 6700 XT recommended. The new list adds ray tracing as a baseline requirement rather than an optional feature.
pcgamer.com reported the updated requirements. Gears of War: E-Day arrives October 6.
