The Coalition's Gears of War: E-Day will launch on October 6, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC, Microsoft has confirmed. The game is exclusive to those platforms and will be available on Steam for PC.
Two editions are on offer: a Standard Edition priced at $70 and a Premium Edition at $100. Premium Edition owners get five days of early access, starting October 1, along with two character skins and poses, the Death's Rendezvous legendary weapon skin set, the Emergence Omen weapon skin set, an Emergence Omen banner and emblem, the Bravo Squad signature weapon pack, 1,000 Iron premium in-game currency, and four seasonal customization packs.
Preordering either edition unlocks the Exfil Dom Character Skin and the Exfil Weapon Skin Set. The game will also be a day-one release for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Microsoft says the title is fully optimized for PC gaming handhelds, including the Steam Deck and Xbox Ally X devices. The Steam Deck compatibility category for the game has not yet been announced.
E-Day marks a shift for the series on PC. Gears of War 2 and 3 remain console exclusives, and Gears of War 4 is not on Steam. Other entries available on Steam include Gears of War: Reloaded, Gears 5, and Gears Tactics. GameSpot reported the release details.
