GeoGuessr has implemented a Halloween-themed roguelite survival horror mode, the location-guessing quiz game has announced. The mode is currently playable, according to gamespark.jp.
The core concept is "DON'T GET CAUGHT". Players explore the world while being chased by a mysterious entity, and surviving depends on making accurate guesses. Each run is generated differently and every decision matters, with difficulty options of Normal, Hard and Nightmare.
During runs, players earn gold and buy powerful items and upgrades from a merchant to raise their survival chances. More than 100 unique items can be acquired to build a loadout, along with power-ups that improve guessing accuracy.
Players also face terrifying bosses with unique abilities guarding powerful loot; some bosses can flip the world upside down or freeze the player. The development team said the game is highly difficult and included various elements to help players survive.
