GeoGuessr Becomes HorrorGuessr, a Free Roguelike Horror Game
HorrorGuessr keeps GeoGuessr's location-guessing mechanic but adds a chasing monster, 100 items and boss fights when it launches this October.
GeoGuessr is being turned into a roguelike survival-horror game called HorrorGuessr, set for release this October. The game keeps the core GeoGuessr mechanic of identifying a location from a Google Street View screenshot, but adds a monster that chases the player and gives them a limited amount of time to guess correctly.
HorrorGuessr lets players use power-ups and choose from 100 unique items. A merchant sells boosts, including a Garlic Pendant that repels the monster and candy corn earplugs that protect against jump scares. Surviving long enough leads to boss encounters that guard good loot.
The game is free to play. Polygon reported the details.
GeoGuessr has been around for a long time as a browser-based deduction game. Most people are content to simply watch Trevor Rainbolt correctly identify a location within seconds.
