Ghost of Yotei Sells 5.4 Million Units, $407 Million, Alinea Estimates

Alinea Analytics estimates that Ghost of Yotei, the PlayStation 5 exclusive from Sucker Punch Productions, has sold about 5.4 million units and generated $407 million in revenue, according to figures shared by the analytics firm and reported by IGN.

By the equivalent point in its lifecycle, Alinea estimates Ghost of Tsushima had sold almost 7 million copies and generated about $418 million. Ghost of Tsushima launched in July 2020 at $60 and was discounted to $45 less than three months after release.

Alinea also estimates around 500,000 copies of Ghost of Yotei were sold in Q3 2026, and that 50,000 players bought the digital Complete Edition in the two weeks since PlayStation launched it. The firm says roughly 6% of the game's existing player base returned to play the new content.

Context around the comparison

Ghost of Yotei launched in October 2025 exclusively on PS5. By the time Ghost of Tsushima reached its comparable stage, there were about 117 million PS4s and 10 million PS5s in the market, versus nearly 100 million PS5s now, according to Alinea. In February 2026, Sony said Ghost of Yotei had exceeded Ghost of Tsushima's sales and significantly contributed to its financial results. IGN's review of Ghost of Yotei scored it 8/10.

Rhys Elliott, head of marketing analysis at Alinea Analytics, said anyone who describes Ghost of Yotei as a flop is "flat-out wrong."
