Grand Theft Auto 6 Listed at 210 GB on PS5 Ahead of 2026 Launch
The standard edition reportedly needs 210 GB on PlayStation 5, with preloading set to begin on November 12 ahead of the November 19, 2026 release.
Grand Theft Auto 6 carries a reported download size of 210 GB for its standard edition on PlayStation 5, according to gamerant.com. The Rockstar Games title is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026.
Preloading begins on November 12, giving PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X owners a full week to download the game before release. The Xbox file size for Grand Theft Auto 6 has not been confirmed.
The figure is well above Rockstar's previous open-world releases. Grand Theft Auto 5 currently requires approximately 87 GB to 104 GB on PS5, depending on installed content and updates, while Red Dead Redemption 2 typically occupies around 111 GB to 116 GB.
Launch updates could still change the final storage requirements, so the 210 GB figure may not be the definitive size players face on release day.
Larger world, larger install
Rockstar has already confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6's map is bigger than those of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, with the map reportedly twice the size of Grand Theft Auto 5 and three times the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2. The studio has also detailed improvements to NPC behavior, wildlife, character animations and the density of Vice City's environments.
