Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson said Grand Theft Auto 6's story centers on protagonists Jason and Lucia and their relationship, in an interview with Edge Magazine cited by gamerant.com. According to Nelson, the pair begin the game wanting to give their relationship another chance.
Nelson added that whether the couple stays together is up to the player, who can keep or lose the relationship as the story progresses.
Rockstar describes the game as following Jason and Lucia as they seek more from life than money, power and a criminal career. The studio says robberies and money-making activities remain part of the experience, set in Vice City and the state of Leonida.
Rockstar has previously confirmed a Criminal Profile system that lets criminal behavior influence the story. It has also detailed activities such as dates, kayaking and beach walks that players can do with Jason and Lucia in Leonida.
