GungHo's B.L.U.E. NOVA hits Steam in 2027 as free-to-play

The PvE bullet-hell co-op shooter puts up to 30 players on the planet DIVAL, where the rogue AI EVE's weapon army holds control.

GungHo Online Entertainment has confirmed that B.L.U.E. NOVA, a player-versus-environment bullet-hell co-op shooter for PC, is in development for Steam and planned for release in 2027 as a free-to-play title. The details were presented at a hands-on preview event, according to inside-games.jp.

The game takes place on the planet DIVAL, where the AI EVE has gone rogue and its weapon army, Singular, now controls the planet. Players fight in co-op squads of up to 30 against that force.

R.I.N.G. system and open-world raids

When players come close to one another, a mechanic called the R.I.N.G. system activates, granting unlimited ammo with no reloading and allowing players to pilot a robot. Matches revolve around destroying towers and barriers before taking down a giant boss and the master tower.

Three modes are planned: Tower Raid, Boss Raid and Challenge. The map is open-world with randomly generated tile layouts, and a Tower Raid session is designed to last about 15 minutes.

The characters shown at the event include Blaze, an assault-rifle attacker, and Seraphy, a sniper who also provides drone support. Technical tests are planned for the future, with timing and details to be announced through official channels such as X.
