Hearthstone's Reign of the Black Empire expansion launches October 21

Blizzard's new Hearthstone set adds 135 collectible cards and four Old Gods as Legendary neutrals, plus an event running until November 11.

Blizzard Entertainment released the Hearthstone expansion Reign of the Black Empire on October 21, 2026, according to game.donga.com. The set adds 135 new collectible cards to the card game.

Four Old Gods arrive as Legendary neutral cards: Eye of the Empire C'Thun, Yogg-Saron the Mastermind, N'Zoth the End of Dreams and Titan's Bane Y'Shaarj. Each has four abilities and only one copy can be placed in a deck. Rather than attacking, the card uses two abilities per turn, and once all four are spent it attacks directly.

The expansion also introduces a keyword called Assemble, which brings a minion to hand and swaps part of its card text for another minion's effect drawn from a fixed list. Titanforged cards were added as well, usable as a card group against the Old Gods' armies.

Nyalotha event runs to November 11

An event exploring Nyalotha, the capital of the Black Empire, runs until November 11. Completing event quests rewards items including the Ritual N'Zoth hero skin for Warlock.

The campaign-style content Journey began on October 14, opening with a first chapter titled Road to Nyalotha. That chapter is made up of seven parts, with new story and quests released each week for seven weeks.
