Paradox reveals Hearts of Iron 4 Romania focus pack

The pack, built with modder Norrman, overhauls Romania's focus trees with agriculture, industry and Iron Guard paths.

Paradox Interactive has announced a new Hearts of Iron 4 focus pack that overhauls the Kingdom of Romania, built in collaboration with established modders, according to PCGamesN. The pack expands the nation's focus trees to give it more depth.

The work is being made by modder Norrman alongside developers Marjin and Alex. Players will be able to choose between favoring traditional agriculture and the existing population, or pushing for industry and expansion.

The focus tree includes a Historical branch that reflects Romania's historical shuffling through four distinct ideologies. An alternative path allows the Iron Guard fascist faction to expand at the expense of the monarchy, with the option to demand a referendum and force regime change.

A Balkan Industrialist branch offers a shorter but faster industry path with powerful early production bonuses. An agriculture-focused path lets recruits return to farming during peacetime and grants bonuses to trade and extra building slots.

Mechanic still under wraps

A major mechanic tied to the "Breadbasket of Europe" path has not been fully revealed. From the start of 1936, Greater Romania was practically at the peak of its territorial expansion, incorporating Hungarians, Bulgarians, Ukrainians and Russians.

The modding team has played Hearts of Iron 4 since about a month after the game's release and has a bit over four years of modding experience with it.
