Hobby Japan announced that Malum, a two-player competitive card game, is scheduled for release around February 2027 at 3300 yen including tax, according to 4gamer.net. The game will also be playable at the company's booth at Game Market 2026 Autumn.
Malum is a two-player competitive card game in which players aim to draw the opponent's player card from their hand. Average play time is 10 minutes, and the target age is 10 and up. Each player's deck comes in five types with different contents: a plush deck of 10 cards, a frog boy deck of 7 cards, a ghost deck of 7 cards, a bird girl deck of 6 cards, and a demon boy deck of 7 cards. The package also includes 5 apple chips.
Players' only action is to draw one card from the opponent's hand and discard it, winning the round when they draw a player card. The first to take three rounds wins. Drawn cards can have effects that must be resolved, and in some cases a player may lose immediately. The product is designed so that players read the story and rules while opening the package.
A trial play session will be held on October 18 at the Hobby Japan booth (booth number 25) at Game Market 2026 Autumn, held October 17 and 18 at Makuhari Messe. An acrylic keychain will be given as a trial-play novelty while supplies last.
