Hold the Gate: Co-op Defense adds Magicals race in new update

The mobile co-op defense game from Tetomove adds a fourth race, 8 special skills, claymores, barbed wire and new convenience features.

The mobile co-op defense game Hold the Gate: Co-op Defense has received an update that adds a fourth new race called Magicals, according to gamemeca.com.

The Magicals are a magical-girl special task force that uses modern weapons, and the squad has five members as listed in the source: Yellow Private, Green Private, Blue Sergeant, Violet Second Lieutenant and Pink Onestar. They are joined by a military dog, Jindo Dog No. 1, and a drone named Lumi.

Their signature abilities include the legendary special skill Rainbow Attack, which combines the five members' weapons in the sky and fires a rainbow beam that pierces across the map, and Magical - Night, which drops a parachute bomb after a targeting warning and explodes into a quokka-shaped mushroom cloud.

New skills and equipment

The update adds 8 special skills, including Combined Robot Summon, along with claymores, barbed-wire buildings, 5 Magicals legendary weapons and an Eating Set equipment.

Convenience features are also included: an attendance calendar, an achievements tab and direct selection of special-skill units. The attendance calendar gives rewards at 10, 20 and 30 days and allows three supplementary attendance chances per month.

Hold the Gate: Co-op Defense has players control one hero while other heroes fight automatically, with online co-op for up to four players and bots filling empty slots. The game is developed by the single-developer studio Tetomove.
