Holdopolis, city-builder about a paid toilet, hits Steam Early Access in November

RODRIK LTD's Holdopolis launches in Early Access on Steam in November and also arrives on the Russian VK Play store, according to gamemeca.com.

RODRIK LTD will release its city-builder Holdopolis in Early Access on Steam in November, according to gamemeca.com. The game will also be available through the Russian store VK Play.

Holdopolis is built around managing a city's only paid public toilet. That toilet is the player's source of income, and it can be upgraded over time from a wooden shack to what the game calls a "Golden Monument of Integration."

The game carries satirical elements. Police chase citizens who relieve themselves in bushes, and a newspaper reports the number of people caught the following day. Bloggers also show up to film the queue in front of the toilet, and players decide whether to chase them away or use them for promotion.

Finances come with trade-offs: raising fees boosts income but can trigger strikes and disease outbreaks. Holdopolis supports Korean, and its official Steam page states that AI was used in the game's development.
