Amplitude Shows Nearly 7 Minutes of Humankind 2 Gameplay
The extended look reveals over 70 cultures across six eras and an Adaptations system, as the Humankind 2 Insiders Program opens for early playtesting.
Amplitude Studios has released the first extended in-game footage of Humankind 2, a video running nearly seven minutes long. The studio also opened the Humankind 2 Insiders Program, which lets players test early versions of the game.
The footage shows more than 70 cultures spread over six eras. It also introduces an Adaptations system, where players pick specialised traits and skills suited to the biomes they encounter.
Culture progression also changes: each culture gets its own upgrade tree, and traits, customs and bonuses carry over between eras. Cultural evolution itself is optional, so a player can stick with a single culture through the ages.
One example in the video shows Egyptian settlers in snowy conditions forming Egyptian dogsledding units after meeting the Thule peoples of Greenland.
Details of the footage and the Insiders Program were reported by rockpapershotgun.com.
