Its visuals mix hand-drawn-style art with 3D graphics rendered in Unreal Engine. The protagonist is aided by a former researcher from the secret organization NASS.
The story begins in 1947, when NASS started researching mysterious signals from space. In 1986, the organization activated a zero-point energy reactor, opening a portal to another dimension and exposing Earth to the threat of the Devourers.
