Kojima Shares PHYSINT Update on KOJI10 Podcast
Bill Skarsgård has completed his scan for PHYSINT, while Don Lee has not yet been scanned, Kojima said.
Hideo Kojima shared a substantial update on PHYSINT during the returning KOJI10 podcast, according to wccftech.com. The update covered casting scans and the project's current production stage.
Bill Skarsgård has completed his scan for PHYSINT. Charlee Fraser and Minami Hamabe have also completed their scans, while Don Lee has not yet been scanned. Kojima plans to scan additional performers this year and next year.
Production for PHYSINT has stopped at actor scans and camera tests; the full performance shoot is planned for later. Kojima also clarified that a recently released image of Skarsgård and Fraser does not feature final character costumes. He showed a confidential cast list to the podcast hosts.
Kojima stated PHYSINT is intended to be "quite different" from Konami's Metal Gear.
Last month, Sony withdrew its funding for PHYSINT and Xbox subsequently took over publishing the project. Kojima learned of Sony's decision during a June Zoom call and was not given a reason. Bloomberg reported the breakdown was attributed to concerns including missed deadlines, budget and multiplatform plans. Kojima Productions urged fans to treat those claims with skepticism, stressing the studio remained healthy and profitable, while Jason Schreier stood by the reporting, saying the cancellation followed months of negotiations.
