Kojima Confirms Physint as Next-Gen Stealth Game, Reveals Cast

Hideo Kojima says Physint is designed as a next-gen stealth game and will not release before a new Xbox console is on the market.

Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Physint is being designed as a next-gen stealth game, and revealed the lead cast for the project. Bill Skarsgard will play the lead character, with Charlee Fraser, Don Lee and Minami Hamabe also confirmed as cast members.

According to Screen Rant, Skarsgard, Fraser and Hamabe have been scanned using Kojima Productions' 3D photogrammetry technology. Kojima said he pitched Physint to the actors personally, and that around 70% of the actors involved in the project are fans of his work.

Kojima also said the plot of Physint is already settled, and that he plans to include new ideas to mark the 40th anniversary of his career in gaming. He stated that Physint will not release before a new Xbox console is on the market.

Xbox takes over publishing

Xbox is now set to publish Kojima's next two games. PlayStation is no longer planning to publish Physint, having dropped the project shortly before Xbox stepped in.

In January 2024, Kojima appeared on camera during a PlayStation State of Play to announce a brand-new stealth game for Metal Gear fans. Kojima mentioned last year that Physint was at least five or six years away, with OD to be released first. OD was initially announced as an Xbox collaboration. Metal Gear Solid was released on October 20, 1998.
