Kojima Productions 10th Anniversary Exhibition Opens in Tokyo
The BEYOND THE STRAND exhibition at Azabudai Hills Gallery runs from 31 October to 20 December 2026, with a life-size Ludens statue at the entrance.
Kojima Productions held a media preview on 30 October 2026 for its 10th anniversary exhibition, BEYOND THE STRAND, which opens to the public on 31 October at Azabudai Hills Gallery, according to cinematoday.jp. The exhibition runs until 20 December 2026 and is split into PHASE sections tracing the studio's ten-year history.
A life-size "10th Anniversary Ludens" statue stands at the entrance next to a detailed chronology. The FIRST PHASE gathers Death Stranding materials, among them a high-school book report by Hideo Kojima on Kobo Abe's short story "Nawa", early prototype footage, original art by Yoji Shinkawa and documents carrying the director's handwritten corrections.
The SECOND PHASE covers Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and shows the telepresence system "Mado", which was used to direct performance capture in Los Angeles from Japan during the COVID period. A screen measuring 6 metres in diameter displays a 360-degree video installation of the game.
Red door and PHYSINT costumes
The THIRD PHASE recreates the red door from the OD promotional video, complete with a knock sound and a card dropping through the gap, and displays props and costumes including outfits from the action-espionage game PHYSINT.
The Azabudai Gallery Cafe offers a collaboration menu inspired by Death Stranding, with original coasters for customers. Advance tickets cost 2,600 yen and same-day tickets 2,800 yen; entry between 31 October and 3 November requires a preview ticket.
