Konami Offers Free Original Castlevania Ahead of Belmont's Curse Launch

Konami is giving away the original 1986 Castlevania for free on the App Store and Google Play. The free download period runs until 24th October 2026.

The giveaway comes ahead of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, which launches on 15th October for Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game follows Rose, the daughter of Castlevania 3's Trevor Belmont, and is set in 1499 in Paris and Dracula's castle.

A demo for Belmont's Curse arrives on 1st October for Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It lets players play through the entire first chapter, with progress carrying over to the full release. The game runs at 60FPS on all platforms except Switch, which runs at 30FPS.

Several Castlevania collections are also on sale. On the PlayStation Store, the Castlevania Anniversary Collection is 80 percent off until 7th October. On Steam, the sale runs from 24th September to 1st October.

Konami has also announced a Castlevania 40th Anniversary orchestral concert for spring 2027 in London, Tokyo, and Los Angeles. The soundtrack to Castlevania: Black & Red is available on major streaming platforms. Evil Empire, the developer known for Dead Cells and The Rogue Prince of Persia, is behind Belmont's Curse, as reported by Eurogamer.
