CI Games details combat overhaul for Lords of the Fallen II

Developer diary shows nearly 30 weapon move sets and on-the-fly stance switching, as CI Games secures a €28.6 million loan to finish the game.

CI Games released a new developer diary on November 4, 2026, detailing a combat overhaul for Lords of the Fallen II, according to wccftech.com. The sequel will offer nearly 30 distinct weapon move sets, up from 15 in the 2023 game.

The overhaul adds new weapon types including Scythes, Claws, Fists and Katanas. Players can switch between one-handed and two-handed stances on the fly and swap two melee setups mid-combo. Each melee loadout can equip two quickfire abilities for instant magic, ranged projectiles and buffs.

Magic and ranged users get dedicated stances with mobility equal to the default melee stance. Casters can hold four spells per catalyst with two catalysts and seven schools of magic. Mana can be refilled via the Sanguinarix without consumables, and ranged weapons have infinite base ammo.

The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and Nintendo Switch 2. Earlier in the week, CI Games secured a €28.6 million loan to fund completion of the game after buying out of Epic Games Store PC exclusivity.

Delayed to Q1 2027

In June 2026, CI Games announced a delay of Lords of the Fallen II from its original 2026 window to Q1 2027. CEO Marek Tyminski confirmed on X that the overall budget, including marketing, is under €55 million, with the game being made by 165 employees across various European countries, mostly Spain.
