Amanita Design has announced Machinarium 2, the sequel to its 2009 puzzle adventure. The studio revealed the game on its X account with a short video showing cartoon artwork and animations, and a Steam page for the game has launched, according to Kotaku.
Machinarium 2 continues the story after robot protagonist Josef and his companion Berta escape Machinarium and crash-land in the Barrens. Players will control both characters and can switch between them.
The game is set in a hidden valley inhabited by two robot tribes — one living in a monastery and one in the valley itself.

The original Machinarium, released 17 years before this announcement, follows Josef as he saves a robo-city from the Black Cap Brotherhood.
