MapleStory autumn update adds escape-room event and Extreme bosses

Nexon applied MapleStory's second autumn update on October 22, adding the four-chapter event Maple Escape: The Missing Nemi, an Extreme difficulty tier for two bosses, the 2nd Golden Hand Awards and new community features, according to Inven.

Maple Escape: The Missing Nemi runs until November 18 and is accessed through the NPC Great Detective Pink Bean, with a new chapter revealed each week for three weeks. Players who complete the fourth chapter enter a draw for tickets to the offline escape room cafe MapleStory Escape, with 200 winners receiving one-person tickets.

The update also introduces an Extreme top difficulty for the bosses Limbo and Baldrix, playable in parties of up to three. Entry requires level 285 for Extreme Limbo and level 290 for Extreme Baldrix, and the Exceptional Hammer (Pocket) and Exceptional Hammer (Pendant) were added to the two bosses' clear rewards.

Contest and community additions

The 2nd Golden Hand Awards accepts player-made cosmetic item designs in five categories, including a new Sole Hecate skin category, with submissions open until November 11. A total of 36 winners will be chosen across categories, receiving up to 3 million won and 1,500,000 Nexon Cash depending on category, and user voting runs from November 30 to December 6 for entries that pass internal review. The first Golden Hand Awards was held in 2021.

Elsewhere, the hunting event Detective Yeti's Suspicious Magnifying Glass runs until November 18, the Personal Burning growth mission was extended from 30 to 45 stages, and Maple Talk was introduced to allow group chat between users in different worlds. A premium PC cafe access event runs from October 23 to November 19.
