MARSTEAD Mars Colony Sim Gets Free Steam Demo
JJJI STUDIO's colony sim lets players run 10 in-game days, managing oxygen, water, food and power ahead of Steam Next Fest.
JJJI STUDIO released a free demo of its Mars colony simulation MARSTEAD on Steam on October 18, 2026, according to gamebiz.jp. The demo gives players 10 in-game days, referred to in the game as 10 Sol, to run a fledgling settlement.
MARSTEAD casts players as leaders of the survivors of a crashed transport ship, tasked with building a settlement on the red planet. Managing oxygen, water, food and power is central to expansion, alongside overseeing settlers' work and daily lives.
The demo includes power generation and storage through solar panels and wind turbines, an airlock that shields the base from the outside environment, and defensive systems built around auto turrets and missile launchers. Players can also capture enemies and negotiate with them to join the colony as settlers.
JJJI STUDIO plans to take MARSTEAD into Steam Next Fest in October, giving the demo a spot in the platform's showcase of upcoming titles.
