Marvel Rivals Adds 50-Player Thanos PvE Mode on Oct. 22

NetEase is adding a new PvE mode to Marvel Rivals called Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Endgame on Oct. 22, according to polygon.com. The mode sends 50 players into battle against Thanos and his minions in the ruins of the Avengers Compound.

Creative director Guangyun Chen said the fight will recreate iconic moments from the films, including Thanos' "I am inevitable" line.

The mode headlines a run of Season 10.5 content. A two-versus-two Avengers: Infinity War mode arrives on Oct. 9, with duos drafting upgrades and trying to snatch opposing teams' Infinity Stones. Halloween-focused skins for Devil Dino, Elsa, Blade and Deadpool land on Oct. 15 alongside the All Hallows Glow event, and a Night of Illusions mode, described as "a thrilling, suspenseful interactive puzzle experience," follows on Oct. 29.

The 18-versus-18 Annihilation mode is also getting a new map called Alchemax Headquarters.

Past PvE and character cadence

Marvel Rivals has previously featured PvE events, including its four-player Halloween-themed Zombie Mode. The game's last two new characters were The Hood and Gorr the God Butcher; last month NetEase announced that Season 10 would only get one new character, Gorr, after close to a year and a half in which the game received a new hero every month across the last eight seasons.
