MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Update Adds Phoenix Cyclops

The update also introduces a PC benchmark test, mandatory shader warm-up and revised assist cooldowns and assemble gauge recovery.

Sony Interactive Entertainment released an update for the fighting game MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls on November 2, 2026, adding the first DLC character, Phoenix Cyclops. The character is Cyclops wielding the Phoenix Force.

On PC, the update adds a benchmark test that checks whether a player's system meets the requirements before online matches. It also adds a matching setting that pairs players who meet the benchmark, and shader warm-up at game startup is now mandatory.

Combat adjustments include a longer cooldown for each assist, increasing the wait before the same character can be called again. The assemble gauge's normal recovery rate rises from 25 to 60 per frame, and from 25 to 30 per frame while in hitstun or guarding, while the gauge no longer recovers during Assemble Smash and Assemble Counter actions.

Cross Over Reflect now grants 10 to 20 skill gauge on success, and Perfect Reflect grants 12 to 40. Character icons at the top of the screen now show remaining cooldown time and whether recovery is disabled.

Replays from the previous version can no longer be played after the update, though locally saved data remains. 4gamer.net reported the update details.
