Melvor Idle 2 gets RuneScape branding in Jagex partnership
Jagex and Games by Malcs made the RuneScape link official, renaming the sequel Melvor Idle 2: A RuneScape Adventure.
Jagex has partnered with developer Games by Malcs to make the RuneScape connection of Melvor Idle 2 official, rebranding the sequel as Melvor Idle 2: A RuneScape Adventure. The announcement was reported by pcgamer.com.
Despite the new subtitle, the sequel will not take place in Gielinor, the world of RuneScape. The RuneScape link is now official at the branding level rather than a shift in setting.
The announcement blog states that Melvor Idle 2 will have no microtransactions. The sequel also features overhauled visuals compared with the original and a level cap of 120.
Jagex became the publisher of the first Melvor Idle five years before this announcement, without a branding change at the time.
