Minecraft Hits Switch 2 on October 27, Dungeons II Revealed
Minecraft arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, with Dungeons II and a new dimension announced at Minecraft Live.
Minecraft is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on 27th October, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma announced during Minecraft Live. The port was first leaked via an ESRB rating in June before Nintendo confirmed it in a Direct showcase.
Existing Switch 1 owners can upgrade to the Switch 2 version, though the upgrade does not appear to be free.
Sharma also revealed other Minecraft Live content, including Dungeons II, a new dimension, and creator tools.
The announcement comes as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella praised Xbox's ongoing streamlining under Sharma, just days after another round of layoffs. According to Sharma, Minecraft gains more than 300,000 new players on an average day, and the game has sold over 425 million copies over more than 17 years.
