Infinity Ward Details Modern Warfare 4 Launch Maps, Modes
The Day 1 patch notes list 4 new modes and a new dynamic map, Kill Block, ahead of the game's October 23 global launch.
Infinity Ward published the official Day 1 update patch notes for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 22, 2026, a day before the game's global launch on October 23, according to gamerant.com. The notes set out the launch map lineup, the multiplayer mode list and how the Camo system will work from day one.
The launch build ships with 12 core 6v6 multiplayer maps, 3 Ground War maps for 32v32 play and 4 Gunfight maps for 2v2 matches. A new dynamic map called Kill Block supports 3v3 and 10v10 Gunfight at launch, with 6v6 modes on that map to be added after release.
Four new multiplayer modes arrive on day one: Inflation, Hijack, Collateral and Combat Outpost. They sit alongside returning modes including Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Free-For-All, Frontline, Search & Destroy, Gunfight and Gun Game.
Camos split across modes
Camos and Mastery Camos also return, with named skins including Chiral and Ripple Tide. At launch, players can unlock Camos through DMZ and Multiplayer; Warzone becomes a route to them once Season 1 begins.
The patch notes follow an Early Access build for players who pre-ordered any edition of the game. The Modern Warfare 4 campaign went live a week before the October 23 release date, and the revamped DMZ mode became playable on October 20, 2026.
