Monster Hunter Rise Passes 20 Million Copies Sold

Capcom's official Monster Hunter account confirmed the Switch and PC title has now sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.

Capcom's official Monster Hunter X/Twitter account announced that Monster Hunter Rise has surpassed 20 million copies sold worldwide. The announcement was made on October 2, 2026, according to the account.

The game first launched on Nintendo Switch in March 2021, followed by a PC release via Steam in January 2022. In January 2023, Capcom brought the title to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Xbox Game Pass.

The Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion debuted for Switch and PC via Steam in June 2022. It later arrived on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Xbox Game Pass in April 2023.

Other entries in the series have also posted large sales numbers. Monster Hunter Wilds launched globally on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in February 2025 and sold over 8 million copies worldwide in its first three days. By March 2025, Wilds had reached 10 million copies sold worldwide.

The Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance expansion is scheduled to launch in 2027. Monster Hunter Wilds will also get a Nintendo Switch 2 release on December 4.
