OOPS.K announces rope-climbing escape game Well Up for PC
Well Up, a first-person game about climbing out of a well, launches on Steam on January 19, 2027 and will support Japanese.
Developer OOPS.K announced Well Up, a first-person game about climbing a rope to escape a well, on October 17, 2026. The game is planned for release on PC via Steam on January 19, 2027.
Well Up is built around physics-based gameplay in which the player controls the left and right hands separately while working their way up the rope. The rope carries gimmicks including wet sections, moss and frayed parts that can break under the player's weight.
The protagonist has a stamina gauge that can be managed by resting at knots in the rope. In dark areas, swinging the rope makes glowing mushrooms on the wall visible, giving players a way to read their surroundings.
A mysterious person speaks to the player over radio and teases the player after each fall. Players aim to improve their highest reached point and clear time.
The Steam store page indicates the game will support Japanese, according to Automaton Media.
