Owlchemy Labs unveils Hyper Visor for HTC's XREAL Aura
The $1.99 XR arcade blaster arrives on the Google Play Store as a launch title for HTC's wired Android eyewear.
Owlchemy Labs announced Hyper Visor, an original XR arcade blaster, according to Game Developer. The game will launch on the Google Play Store priced at $1.99 and will be a launch title for HTC's XREAL Aura.
The XREAL Aura is a pair of high-tech sunglasses that connects by wire to an Android phone. Hyper Visor is built around eight levels that draw on genres including rhythm games and side-scrolling shooters.
Players use their hands and a pair of living shades to play. The studio behind the game is owned by Google.
The announcement follows comments from Owlchemy Labs CEO Andrew Eiche, who said in an interview that VR has not passed what he called "the cafe test," because users would not feel comfortable wearing a headset in public. The studio has also kept its Simulator series alive with regular ports and released new games including Cosmonious High and Dimensional Double Shift.
