Petit Computer 4 SmileBASIC pulled from Switch eShop without notice

Neither the official website nor the SmileBASIC social accounts announced the delisting; overseas outlets link it to Switch 2 modification reports.

Petit Computer 4 SmileBASIC, the programming software for Nintendo Switch, is no longer available for purchase on the Nintendo eShop in Japan or overseas as of October 23, 2026, according to Game*Spark. The delisting was in place by 22:30 that day.

Neither the software's official website nor its official X accounts have announced the suspension of sales. Game*Spark reported that it has asked the publisher for the reason behind the removal and whether sales will resume.

Overseas outlets including Twisted Voxel have reported a possible connection between the delisting and reports that a vulnerability in the software was used to modify Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. The publisher has not confirmed this.

Maintenance days earlier

Shortly before the removal, the service for uploading and downloading programs created in SmileBASIC, the beginner programming language included with the software, had just resumed following server maintenance carried out because of a PHP vulnerability.
