Sony Releases PS Portal Update 7.3.0 With 3D Audio Toggle
Version 7.3.0 adds a 3D Audio on/off toggle, real-time search results, and a QR code scan option for continuing searches elsewhere.
Sony released PlayStation Portal system software version 7.3.0 in October 2026, according to gamerant.com. The update was not accompanied by a major announcement.
The main addition lets users turn 3D Audio on or off while playing a game, through Settings > System > 3D Audio. Users can now also see real-time search results while typing on the device.
The update adds a QR code scan option that continues a search in the PlayStation Store, the PlayStation App, or a web browser. Sony also lists system software performance and stability improvements, along with improved messages and usability on some screens.
Earlier Portal Updates
In March 2026, the PlayStation Portal received a major update that added a 1080p High Quality mode and clearer on-screen notifications for game invites and trophies. The device uses Sony's Remote Play infrastructure to connect to a PlayStation 5 and was Sony's first handheld console release in more than a decade, following the PlayStation Vita.
