Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A Gets Mystery Gift Scatterbug and Vivillon Challenge

The Pokémon Company has announced a Mystery Gift distribution of a special Scatterbug in Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, alongside a new in-game campaign called "Vivillon Challenge!" The giveaway marks the release of the Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A all-in-one edition, according to inside-games.jp.

The Scatterbug received through Mystery Gift will evolve randomly into one of 16 Vivillon patterns. These 16 exclude the three patterns already available in the game (Garden Pattern, Marine Pattern, and Meadow Pattern) and the Poké Ball Pattern.

In the Vivillon Challenge!, players earn Vivillon Points by evolving Scatterbug. The campaign has a worldwide goal of 660,000 points, and if that target is reached, participants will receive a Vivillon with the Poké Ball Pattern. The challenge has no stated end date.

The Scatterbug gift can be received via Mystery Gift until 10:59 on November 19, 2026.

Background

Vivillon debuted in Pokémon X and Y, where its pattern was determined by the country or region registered on the 3DS. There are 18 Vivillon patterns in total plus two distribution-only patterns. The Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon was distributed in June 2014 to mark the opening of Pokémon Center Paris and was also available at some events in Japan; this is its first distribution in about 10 years.
