Pokémon TCG Pocket adds Dual Fusion expansion on October 29

The Pokémon Company will add the Dual Fusion expansion pack to Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket on October 29 at 10:00, the company announced. The set introduces Dual Type cards, which have two types.

Cards revealed for Dual Fusion include Mega Mewtwo X ex, Mega Greninja ex, Pikachu ex, Fuecoco ex, Mew ex, Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise and Mega Dragonite ex.

A new special pack called Beginning Partners will also be added. Special packs are opened using Special Pack Power, which recovers once a week. Each Beginning Partners pack contains one card and guarantees a star card, featuring partner Pokémon from the nine regions that have been settings of the Pokémon series. Beginning Partners cards can be traded like other expansion cards of the same rarity, with some exceptions.

Future updates are planned to add missions for collecting special pack cards, related merchandise, and Special Pack Hourglasses that allow opening special packs without waiting for power to recover. The Pokémon Company shared the details via inside-games.jp.

30th anniversary event mission

A special event mission commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon Trading Card Game runs from October 20, 2026 at 22:00 to October 20, 2027 at 14:59. Logging in for 10 days during the event earns a special immersive Pikachu ex card, a Pika Pika! Pikachu Pack and related merchandise. The immersive Pikachu ex illustration is by graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN, matching the FUR illustration from the 30th CELEBRATION expansion pack.

The Pika Pika! Pikachu Pack contains Pikachu cards from Genetic Apex through High Class Pack MEGA, and a special Pika Pika! Pikachu Pack ex with a guaranteed Pikachu ex or shiny Pikachu ex is obtainable by logging in during a certain period.
