Project Reclaimer brings 128-player battles to Halo 3 on PC

The PC-only community project runs through Halo: The Master Chief Collection and adds 16-player campaign co-op and a server browser.

A community project called Project Reclaimer has been revealed for Halo 3 on PC, according to Windows Central. The launcher is PC-only and runs the game from an installation of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Project Reclaimer supports matches of up to 128 players, including 64-on-64 team battles. The Halo 3 campaign can be played in co-op with up to 16 players.

Four-player split-screen is available, and local groups can play together online through community servers. The project also restores Halo 3's original menu and adds a server browser.

Expanded Forge tools let creators use objects from different maps, remove invisible boundaries, adjust lighting, and place Halo 3's AI characters into maps.

Dedicated servers for the project run on Windows or Linux, and mods can be downloaded automatically when joining a Project Reclaimer server.

Older Halo context

Halo 3 originally released almost two decades ago on Xbox 360. ElDewrito, a port of Halo Online, appeared before Halo officially launched on PC.
