Both trials arrive on October 20, 2026, for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, alongside the second wave of October Extra and Premium games.
Sony has confirmed that game trials for Mortal Shell 2 and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will join PlayStation Plus on October 20, 2026, according to gamerant.com. Both are limited trials rather than full games, a perk reserved for PS Plus Premium subscribers.
The two trials launch alongside the second wave of PS Plus Extra and Premium games for October 2026, which includes Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West and Mycopunk. Sony has not said how long either trial will remain available.
Mortal Shell 2 comes from the American studio Cold Symmetry and is a standalone sequel to the 2020 soulslike Mortal Shell. It launched in late summer 2026 and is priced at $49.99, and it already offers an open beta demo on PC and Xbox Series X/S since launch.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is developed by France-based Asobo Studio and arrived on PC and consoles on August 27, 2026, priced at $59.99. It is a prequel set roughly 15 years before 2022's A Plague Tale: Requiem and currently has no free trial on any platform.
A third wave of PS Plus additions is scheduled for October 27, 2026, including Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2, Monster Energy Supercross 25 and Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition.
