FBI and Santa Ana Police Probe Theft of 6,451 PSA-Graded Cards

The stolen haul, taken from a FedEx truck on October 13, includes 2,978 Pokémon cards and is worth over $963,000, according to The New York Times.

The FBI and Santa Ana police are investigating the theft of 6,451 PSA-graded cards from a FedEx truck in California, the grading company has confirmed. The cards were taken on October 13 after being picked up at PSA's Santa Ana facility.

According to The New York Times, the haul is collectively worth more than $963,000. TheGamer reports that 2,978 of the stolen items are Pokémon cards, followed by 898 One Piece cards, 880 basketball cards, 640 baseball cards and 433 football cards.

PSA has published a list of every stolen card with its certification number and serial number, and deactivated those certification numbers. The company shared the list with marketplace sellers, auction houses and digital commerce platforms to prevent resale, and provided investigators with video footage, shipment manifests and item-level records.

PSA says it has refunded the grading fees on all affected orders. Customers whose items were sent via a PSA return label are covered by the company's insurance, with payments already going out. Those who used their own label or bought through a dealer will work with PSA or their dealer directly on compensation.

In July, Cheshire Police confirmed that brothers Keith and Shane Johnson had been caught after breaking into Celestial Collectables and stealing Pokémon cards worth £62,000.
