Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 remakes get Switch 2 retail release in January 2027
The three remakes are already on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop since October 16, with a boxed collection reportedly planned for January 2027.
The Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 remakes are headed to retail on Nintendo Switch 2, with a physical release of the collection planned for January 2027, according to a Nintendo Life report. The digital versions are already available: all three titles were added to the Nintendo Switch eShop on October 16.
Each edition bundles the base game with its downloadable content. Resident Evil 2 arrives as the Deluxe Edition at 14GB, Resident Evil 3 takes up 12.9GB, and Resident Evil 4 comes as the Gold Edition at 29GB, which includes the Separate Ways expansion among its extras.
The Switch 2 ports were first announced in early September, and the eShop rollout now precedes the boxed collection by several months.
More Resident Evil on the way
Capcom is marking the Resident Evil franchise's 30th anniversary this year. Leon Kennedy, who first appeared in Resident Evil 2 in 1998 and has since starred in 11 titles in the series, returned in 2026 in Resident Evil Requiem alongside Grace Ashcroft.
A Code Veronica remake is also set to launch in Autumn 2027, placing it after the Switch 2 retail collection.
