RPG Maker U2U P2D Map Editor Trial Opens on Steam
Gotcha Gotcha Games' trial runs until November 16, 2026 and pairs with a community map-submission event on Steam and X.
Gotcha Gotcha Games released a trial version of the P2D Map Editor for RPG Maker U2U on Steam on October 20, 2026, the studio announced. The trial will remain available until November 16, 2026, and its release coincides with Steam Next Fest.
P2D, short for Perspective 2D, is a new map-creation feature that produces maps with height and depth. The trial allows users to build P2D maps, apply effects and preview walking animations. Maps created in the trial can be saved and carried over to the full version.
The trial does not include the software's game development features, so it is limited to map work ahead of the full release.
Community map event runs alongside the trial
Gotcha Gotcha Games also opened a user-participation event called "Minna de Tsukurou! P2D Map," running from October 20 to November 16, 2026. The campaign has no judging or ranking. Entries are posted through a thread on the Steam Community Hub, or on X using a designated hashtag after following the official X account.
RPG Maker U2U, published by the KADOKAWA group's Gotcha Gotcha Games, is accepting wishlist registrations on its Steam store page. The P2D trial and campaign details were reported by news.denfaminicogamer.jp.
