RuneScape opens official Plugin Hub with five community plugins

Players need a verified email address to install plugins, which are hosted through mod.io and must pass Jagex's approval.

RuneScape has opened its official community plugin system, the Plugin Hub, with five plugins available to install at launch, according to PCGamesN. The day-one lineup is Quest Helper, Menu Entry Swapper, Tilemarkers, Entity Hider and Job Gauges.

The Hub is reached through a toolbox icon in the in-game ribbon menu, and players need a verified email address to use it. Plugins are hosted through the third-party platform mod.io.

Quest Helper supports 69 quests. Menu Entry Swapper, meanwhile, cannot add a Buy All shop option or set Teleport and Drop as default left-click actions.

Plugins run inside the game client and must pass Jagex's approval process; they cannot automate actions for players. API feature requests are handled by a trusted group of developers called the API Council.

Jagex plans to release new plugins in batches roughly every two weeks alongside game updates. The launch follows an open beta that gave players an early look at the official plugin tools.
