Jagex Reveals RuneScape Reignited, Launching 2 December

Reignited characters get a new economy and hiscores with no paid progression when they arrive on 2 December.

Jagex announced RuneScape Reignited at RuneFest 2026, a new permanent character type that launches on 2 December, according to Eurogamer.

Reignited characters introduce a new economy and new hiscores, with no paid progression options. They will play in the same worlds as existing characters rather than on separate servers.

Players who create a Reignited character receive free access to members' content for the first 10 days after launch.

One update, three parts

RuneScape Reignited, The Adventure Guide and the next Remastering RuneScape update all arrive together in a single update on 2 December.

The announcement came alongside other reveals at RuneFest 2026 in Birmingham, where Jagex also confirmed a fourth RuneScape MMO built in Unreal Engine and a new RuneScape animated adaptation made with YouTuber Charlie "MoistCr1TiKaL" White. A clone of Old School RuneScape briefly appeared online earlier this week before being shut down.
