Sanrio Party Land TV ad unveiled with all seven Naniwa Danshi members

Sanrio presented a new TV commercial for its party game Sanrio Party Land at an event in Tokyo on October 20, with all seven members of the idol group Naniwa Danshi appearing, according to gamebiz.jp. The game launches on October 29 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 at 6,380 yen including tax.

The commercial's concept is that playing together makes everyone better friends, and it will air nationwide sequentially starting from the event. Web videos featuring the group will be released from November onward on Sanrio Games' official X, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok accounts.

Mini-games and a cast of characters

Sanrio Party Land is the first title from Sanrio Games, the company's game brand. It packs more than 45 original mini-games and board games into a town populated by Sanrio characters, with more than 145 characters appearing. Players can also create avatars, dress them up, collect stickers and go fishing.

At the event, the members tried two mini-games: Cinnamoroll's Home Run Derby and Hello Kitty's Kurukuru Speedy Peeler. The Cinnamoroll team hit 69 home runs for a silver rating, while the Hello Kitty team earned a platinum rating.

The members who appeared were Daigo Nishihata, Ryusei Onishi, Kento Nagao, Shunsuke Michieda, Kyohhei Takahashi, Joichiro Fujiwara and Kazuya Ohashi. A Sanrio managing executive officer in charge of the game business was interviewed after the event.

Sanrio began considering a move into the game business about three years ago, aiming to make five or six titles rather than just one, and the team settled on the party game genre for its characters with unanimous agreement.
